AQ St. John Week 1 - January 17-24, 2027
AQ St John Week 2 - January 24 - 31, 2027
Spend a week-long guided adventure in the wild beauty of St. John (USVI). From a cozy eco tent at historic Cinnamon Bay Campground, you’ll begin each day with waves and wellness opportunities. Your time on the island will blend snorkeling in clear Caribbean waters, hiking through tropical landscapes, discovering the stories of Virgin Islands National Park, and restoring its trails through hands-on volunteer work (M, T, Th, F – wrap up by 2PM).
This is more than an island getaway—it’s a chance to explore with purpose, connect with others, and leave St. John better than you found it. You’ll return home with meaningful memories, a closer connection to island life, and the knowledge that your efforts helped care for this extraordinary place.

The Volunteer Retreat to St. John has proven to be an unexpectedly rejuvenating experience for me – mind, body and spirit alike! I particularly appreciate the sense of fulfillment I found through volunteering with Friends of the Virgin Islands. I can ‘do good while feeling good,’ enjoy myself, and still come away with the fresh perspective brought by time away from my busy work/life routine.”
I emerged from the Covid years with a healthy dose of introverted social anxiety, so it took me a substantial leap of faith to sign up for this curious adventure. It was wonderful, life-changing. I only knew one person at arrival and left with 11 fast-friends a week later. It was a warm, eclectic mix of people, the work restoring ruins and clearing invasive plants connected us to the island in a way no 100% beach vacation ever could, and there was plenty of time to swim, snorkel, and chill. You camp a short pathway from a gorgeous St John beach so you are definitely still vacationing in the Caribbean. We worked hard and slept well, saw incredible reefs, I can’t recommend the St John Volunteer Retreat enough!
